DAY1
Non-Cycling Day
Depart from home and arrive at Kumamoto Airport (KMJ) that afternoon. After arrival, move to the hotel and spend a relaxing time preparing for cycling from the next day.
DAY2

The first day starts with a journey to the “Heart of Kyushu”, Mt. Aso. Mt. Aso is an active volcano and has some of the most beautiful roads in all of Kyushu. We head east from Kumamoto City and will climb the massive volcano and will reach the Kurokawa area. Kurokawa is where ancient samurai used to frequent. We have the chance heal in the onsen of this area much like the samurai did hundreds of years ago.
DAY3

From Kurokawa we continue east and descend the eastern half of Mt.Aso and into Oita Prefecture. Through the beautiful vistas and forest paths we reach at our destination Taketa. Taketa is a small town nestled in the mountains, known for its great harvests thanks to its proximity to Mt. Aso a the pure mountain waters, Taketa is a great place to relax and fully take in the atmosphere of the Japanese countryside.
DAY4
approx. 48km
Heading south from Taketa, our destination for the day is in Miyazaki Prefecture, Takachiho Town. Takachiho is known in legends as the place where the Japanese creation gods created Japan. Takachiho is also known for it green tea, and is an important area for Japanese mythology. The mountain paths leading to Takachiho are breathtaking and once we arrive, we will have some well-deserved rest in this town of the gods.
DAY5

For today, we head further east deeper into Miyazaki Prefecture with our eyes set on the ocean. We will enjoy a relaxing descent from Takachiho to the coastal town of Nobeoka. Nobeoka is known for the many legends that surround the mysterious region of Miyazaki and has deep connections with the child of Amaterasu, Japan’s sun goddess whom which is the origin of the Japanese imperial family. Once we reach our accommodation in Nobeoka we can call it a day.
DAY6
approx. 91km
Our last day has us rideing next to the Miyazaki seaside. We will pass through a town called Hyuga, which is a well-known surf spot for surfers as well as being the place where you can get your hands on Hyuga Natsu, a special and delicious citrus fruit only found in the Miyazaki region. Once we arrive in Miyazaki City we have some free time before we get ready for our last night together.
