Start your journey from the expansive Yonakohama Park, covering approximately 42,000 square meters. This park is a local favorite, with a lawn area perfect for playing catch or soccer. Many people enjoy jogging and walking here from morning until late at night.
In winter, the park is illuminated with beautiful lights, and in early March, cherry blossoms (Kawazu-zakura and Tairyo-zakura) planted from the mainland bloom splendidly, making it a popular spot for photography.

On March 6, 1921, the Crown Prince (later Emperor Showa) landed at Yonabaru for the first time before his overseas tour to Europe. Asato no Tera is a place where you can truly feel the spirit of Okinawa, and it's a spot we highly recommend visiting. "Tera" generally refers to a place where a god is enshrined, and it's locally called "Tira." It's a sacred site for prayers for the prosperity of descendants, good health, abundant harvests, good fishing catches, and safe voyages. Four sacred stones are enshrined within the small shrine.
Asato no Tera is designated as a Tangible Folk Cultural Property of Okinawa Prefecture, as it is a valuable example of sacred stone worship in Okinawa and the form of a tera without an accompanying cave.

Registered as a World Heritage Site in 2000, Nakagusuku Castle Ruins is a must-visit spot where you can experience the essence of Okinawa.
The castle is built almost in a straight line from northeast to southwest on a 160-meter-high hill along Nakagusuku Bay. You can see the beautiful curved castle walls that skillfully utilize natural rocks and topography, as well as the sophisticated stonemasonry techniques of the time. It is said that there were over 300 gusuku (castles) in Ryukyu, but this one is famous for having escaped the ravages of World War II and retaining its original form the most in the prefecture.
From the castle walls, you can enjoy panoramic views of Nakagusuku Bay (Pacific Ocean) to the east, the East China Sea to the west, and even the surrounding islands.
