Roadside Station Kushima

Kushima is famous for yellowtail farming, and Kurose Suisan's "Kurose Yellowtail" is renowned nationwide. The Umiyama Marche and Umiyama Shokudo in Roadside Station Kushima use this Kurose Yellowtail.

The yellowtail is characterized by its stable flavor throughout the year, thanks to meticulous breeding and feeding methods, as well as individual fish management using AI and state-of-the-art equipment.

Umiyama Shokudo's most popular menu item is the "Kushima Freshly-Caught Buri-Puri Donburi," but the "Selectable Donburi Gozen" series also offers a variety of popular dishes, including arranged yellowtail bowls. This is the only place, Roadside Station Kushima, where you can enjoy such a luxurious taste of fatty Kurose Yellowtail.

Enoharu Shrine

Enoharu Shrine stands in a quiet location surrounded by the lush green mountains of Nango Town. This historic shrine, with a history of about 1300 years, has a beautiful vermilion-lacquered main hall with a complex, intricate roof called yatsumune-zukuri, and is designated as an Important Cultural Property of the prefecture, along with its bell tower.

The shrine has long been believed to provide blessings for maritime safety, traffic safety, and matchmaking. As the unusual name "Yowara" in Kyushu suggests, it is also said to "weaken" disasters and misfortunes, and is known as a shrine for warding off evil. The "Treasure Museum" next to the main hall displays and preserves about 90 items, including ancient writings and crowns, which are handed down in the shrine, and can be viewed free of charge.
