Profile

Born on February 11, 1964, the year of the first Tokyo Olympics, I entered the world as the first son of a family running a bicycle shop. After graduating from local elementary, middle, and high schools in Nishi City, blessed with nature and agricultural products, I studied at a university in Kitakyushu. Subsequently, I attended Bridgestone Cycle Management School in Urawa City, Saitama Prefecture, to learn the fundamentals of bicycle shop management. After training at a shop in Chofu City, Tokyo, which sold the most Bridgestone bicycles in Japan, I joined my family's bicycle shop, "Cyclland Okuguchi," as the second-generation owner in 1986, a role I've held for 36 years. In February 2019, I opened a Giant FC store, "Giant Store Miyazaki," in central Miyazaki City, offering sales, repairs, and rental bicycle services. Currently, I am the representative director of Okuguchi Shoten Co., Ltd. and a representative partner of Almighty Okumo Co., Ltd. My journey with cycling events began in childhood when I participated in local cycling competitions with my father and enjoyed receiving commemorative medals. In 1992, I participated in a cycling hill climb race held in Kirishima Kogen, sparking my interest in sports cycling. I've enjoyed cycling in various domestic and international events such as the Ibusuki, Kunitachi Triathlon, Gokamura Mountain Bike Race, and the Honolulu Century Ride. Additionally, I've challenged myself in full marathons like the Ibusuki Nanohana Marathon and the Aoshima Pacific Marathon.
