Saga Castle ruins
Saga castle ruins is a historic Japanese castle located in the heart of Saga City, Saga Prefecture. It once served as the residence of the Nabeshima clan, daimyō of the Saga Domain. Completed in the early Edo period, the castle was the stronghold of the Nabeshima clan, an outside daimyō, and served as the center of governance for the Saga Domain for approximately 270 years during the Edo period. Today, the castle grounds and its surrounding moat have been transformed into Saga Castle Park, a prefectural park. It's a popular spot for leisurely strolls, with its scenic ponds filled with waterfowl and koi, fountains, and grassy lawns.
